Scripture: Numbers 23:19;20

“God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it.”

Numbers 23:19,20

Devotional:

“I am not worried about God lying, It is His timing that concerns me…”

I know we have all heard the scripture stating that God is not like man, He cannot lie and the preacher goes on to say:

“If God said, He is going to do it!!!”

And a quickening comes over us and some will even begin to praise in response to their spirit agreeing with that Word….

And…We wait on God

Annnd…We wait on God

Annnnnnd…We wait on God

Surely, God is gonna come through. Right? I mean, He has too. Right? If He cannot lie and His word cannot return back to Him void, then it must come to fruition. So, what’s the hold up??? 

God’s Timing…..It’s all…..in His timing.

When is His timing? No one knows. The bible declares that “in all things there is a time and a season”. (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

A set time or kairos moment to when God choses to move. Typing this made me think of the song, “He’s an on-time God…Yes He is.” And I begin to wonder, how many of us actually believe that song?

Someone maybe thinking, when is “On-Time”, so I can prepare for it? My on-time and God’s on-time must be two different times….Cause I’m looking at a notice that was due last week; I got a test result back that wasn’t good; My child is in the hospital and the doctor said he has done all he can do…So when exactly is my “On-Time” God going to show up for me??? I know God is not like man, He cannot lie…But it is His timing that I am struggling with.

Peter said it best. “Jesus, help my unbelief.” (Mark 9:24)

During those times when I can’t see what You said, help me to trust that You said it. Understanding God’s plan for our lives is not an easy task. It has caused many to stray away from the Faith. But it is during those dark days, when everything in us is telling us to give up …..

THAT’S when we need to remember that God is not like man, He cannot lie, He cannot change His mind and He will do, exactly what He said.
